As the leaves shift to an enchanting medley of browns and reds, one of the most charming times of the year to visit New York City sets in. During autumn, the Big Apple is alive with energy thanks to a stellar variety of events, and we’ve rounded up some of the best ones to add to your itinerary.
New York Pizza Festival
If you didn’t get enough Italian action at Feast of San Genaro, this one’s for you. New York is a city lauded for its pizza, and finally there’s a festival to celebrate it. The first New York Pizza Festival runs October 6–7 on Crescent Avenue in the Bronx, from noon to 6 pm, and showcases not only America’s top dough champs, but those from Naples, Italy as well. Expect an abundance of pies in varying styles, dressed with all manner of toppings. For example, Brooklyn pizza maker Domenico De Marco of the famed Di Fara Pizza will serve classic round tomato pies, while San Francisco’s Tony Gemignani of Tony’s Pizza Napoletana is going for a smoked mozzarella rendition, with tomato, basil, and pancetta.
