In 2006 he returned back to his home town of Patchogue, Long Island where he and a close friend opened up Perabell Food Bar Patchogue, After a couple of years they opened up a second location in Riverhead NY. That’s where John decided to start doing authentic Neapolitan Pizza. John traveled to Naples where he purchase a Stephano Ferrara Wood Burning Neapolitan Pizza Oven, and shipped it back home to Long Island, and that’s where the hobby turned into a passion. After much success with the pizza he decided to open a free standing Pizzeria right around the corner from his original Perabell was. Donatina is named after his two kids Donato & Valentina. Donatina serves up different styles of pizza Including NY style, Grandma, Sicilian, Our own Gluten Free dough made daily for pan Pizza & Long Island’s First Detroit Style Pizza.
