Chef Justin Bazdarich
Chef Justin Bazdarich is the chef/owner of Speedy Romeo. He moved to New York City in 2001 to attend the French Culinary Institute, and after graduation he landed an internship at Jean Georges. In three years, he grew from intern to sous chef and then worked as opening chef de cuisine at Perry Street. Two years later, he signed on as a chef trainer for Vongerichten’s Culinary Concepts, launching 15 restaurants around the world. Chef Justin traveled in Italy to learn the traditions of Italian butchers, chefs, and pizzaiolos.
Chef Justin is currently working on a new restaurant, OXOMOCO, with business partner and long time friend Chris Walton. OXOMOCO will feature two wood fired grills and dishes highlighting flavors from all throughout Mexico. OXOMOCO will open this spring in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
